Our Values
The Sierra Madre Sanctuary and its stakeholders embody eight core values which serve as their guide in achieving genuine and proactive interactions with one another.
Integrity – is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It is the practice of being honest and showing consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values.
Love – genuine concern for the well-being of people and the environment.
Compassion – in Latin this means “co=suffering”; which literally means “to suffer together” and a sincere motivation to relieve that suffering.
Humility – from the Latin word “humilis”, meaning low. It is the state of being free from pride or arrogance.
Resilience – the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties or the ability to build better forward after disasters or unfortunate events.
Innovation – the Latin verb innovare means to renew. Innovation is the use of new ideas and methods to improve the current situation or condition.
Stewardship – is an ethic that embodies the responsible planning and management of resources.
Teamwork – is the collaborative effort of a group of people formed to achieve a specific goal or to complete a task in the most effective and efficient manner.
